This work was led by Dr Chris Ogden at Imperial College. I helped with earthquake catalog analysis during a summer Undergraduate Research Opportunity (UROP) Placement carried out in Summer 2020.

Toward Structural Health Monitoring with the MyShake Smartphone Network

This work was led by Dr Sarina Patel at UC Berkeley Seismology Lab. I was responsible for carrying out the smartphone noise floor tests on the special base-isolated facility at Haviland Hall, while I also compiled the crowdsourced earthquake waveform database used to source data “from the wild” for SHM analysis.

EPS20: Earthquakes in your Backyard

Earthquakes in your Backyard (EPS20) is a large lower division undergraduate class at UC Berkeley, taught by Professors Richard Allen and Roland Burgmann. Students come from a wide variety of intended majors, including STEM, Economics, Business, and Media Studies, amongst others. Students spend a semester learning all about earthquake and tsunami hazards, with a particular emphasis on the issues facing California. Equal emphasis is placed on the scientific understanding of these phenomena and potential mitigation actions.
